Our Team
 
 
Krysia Witkowski, MPT, IMTP,C.
 
Krysia Witkowski is a physical therapist and owner of Integrative Manual Therapy and Wellness. She is also a Polestar Pilates certified instructor. Mrs. Witkowski received her undergraduate degree in Sports Medicine and Psychology from The University of Virginia.  Krysia then went on to receive her Master of Physical therapy degree from Emory University School of Medicine.  She has been a massage therapist since 1991, worked as an athletic trainer at UVA, and was a Blue Ridge Mountain Search and Rescue volunteer.  Mrs. Witkowski has completed over 1,000 hours of continuing education in: manual therapy (from osteopathic and visceral mobilization, to men’s and women’s health issues, and cranial, nerve, and lymph work); orthopedics; wound care; and therapeutic exercise including movement and posture re-education in the form of Pilates for physical therapists. Krysia has a passion for continuing her education; she has completed a specialization certification in manual therapy, plans to complete her Doctorate of Physical Therapy...but won't stop there. 
 
 
Kristin Kaplan, MSPT
 
     
  Kristin is a physical therapist and certified Polestar Pilates instructor.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in health and sport science from University of Richmond and Master of Science in Physical Therapy from University of Miami, Florida.  Her continuing education coursework includes advanced evaluation & manipulation of craniofacial, cervical & upper thoracic spine, analysis & management of lumbo-pelvic-hip complex, and extremity evaluation & manipulation through University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences.  Other manual therapy coursework includes myofascial release, strain/counter strain, advanced strain/counter strain, and respiratory rehab/ribcage biomechanics through the Connecticut School of Integrative Manual Therapy.  Kristin has also taken courses in osteoporosis evaluation and treatment strategies, biomechanical evaluation of the golf swing, therapeutic exercise, and postural re-education.  She is currently working toward certification in manual therapy with plans to complete her Doctorate of Physical Therapy over the course of the next few years.
 
 
Hali Fiano
 
       Hali is an accredited Pilates instructor who has been showcasing her talents and passion for teaching here at INTEGRATIVE since the opening of our new office in January 2007. She is certified in Pilates matwork, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Barrel exercises.
      
 
Katie Banfield, CMT, RYT
 
         Katie Banfield earned a B.A. in International Relations from Bucknell University and worked in environmental advocacy until moving to Virginia in 1998. Suffering from chronic sciatica and lower back pain, she sought relief through yoga. It was then that Katie stepped onto the path of physical, mental and emotional healing. She earned her 300-hour teaching certificate at Sun and Moon Yoga Studio in 1999 and taught full time in the DC area for 5 years, focusing on Ashtanga and Anusara yoga. During that time, Katie traveled annually to India, Nepal and Bali for extended studies of Raja yoga, Vedanta and Tibetan Buddhism.
            In 2002 Katie began her study of massage in India, with a course in Traditional Thai Massage. She continued studying Ayurveda and Thai Massage with the Lotus Palm Institute of Montreal and Wise Earth Traditions School of Ayurveda. Katie is a recent graduate of the 700-hour program of massage therapy of the Cayce/Reilly School in Virginia Beach and she continues to grow. Katie now joins INTEGRATIVE with a bag full of tricks and a heart full of compassion. Her studies continue, as she is currently working toward certifications in acupressure and Trauma Touch Therapy.
 
 
Elizabeth Barge, M.Ed., R.D.
 
        Elizabeth has her Masters in Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and been registered with the American Dietetic Association for 23 years.  She is a home economist and dietitian. Elizabeth has broad experience in clinical nutrition but specializes in Adult Weight Management. She is committed to helping people achieve their fitness and health goals expediently, realistically and economically. She’s currently on the Board of the Tidewater Dietetics Association.
 
Darby Beckman
 
    Darby is a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in Manhattan, and is certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. Her personalized, one-on-one program focuses on creating a healthy diet, increasing energy, moving past limitations and self doubt, and making simple and lasting lifestyle changes.
